Art of Skateboarding Website

I’m sure this will be old news to some of you, but… I thought I’d give props to this website, if only to give everyone on this site something to check out while there’s no skating to be had - at least not outdoors.)

I found this website late last night and ended up staying up for most the night checking it out:

ArtOfSkateboarding.com

It’s a community of people - close to 20,000 members (!) from around the world - who collect and trade vintage skateboards. The website features a *vast* database of skateboards in the form of a PRICEGUIDE which you can search by skateboard company, skater or artist. It’s great to see what skateboards looked like throughout the years. Oops, I am going on too much about graphics again?

You can also see what a specific board has sold for which gives you an IDEA of what it’s worth - more specifically what ONE person was willing to pay at ONE time. Value will fluctuate depending on demand or whether some person had that particular deck when they were a kid, lost it and just had to have it at any price… we’ve all seen this happen on ebay for all sorts of items.

In order to have access to the gallery of pictures, you must become a member and membership is FREE.

Take a tour of a virtual skateboard museum…

P.S. There’s also a RESTORATION section which might be of interest to the skater artists on this website. It includes how-to tips and tricks as well as before and after photos.
