GFHBoards untrustworthy…

As most of you know, recently we ran a longboard story competition, which was supposedly sponsored by GFHboards. Well thats what they said..

I was approached GFHboards a while ago. They were interested in advertising on Skurfboards.com. So we decided to hold a longboard story contest. We cut a deal, of which GFHboards would get advertising/pr in exchange for supplying a prize for the compeition, a longboard.

The competition winner was announced May 14th. GFHBoards, have gone silent and not commited to their side of the deal.

Just a little warning for all you longboarders out there, be careful when dealing with GFHBoards.

  1. You should know that GFH IS THE SHIT!!!! I have never known any other company to be so customer service oriented! GFH is kick ass company that make kick ass boards and shouldn’t be talked about like that. Maybe you should get you facts straight before you go talking shit like this!!

  2. you guys should know that GFH thought that the competition would be hosted for united states entries

i talked to them about it and apparently you guys havent

dont go talking shit about companies when you guys are the ones who didnt post the right rules for the story

  3. I sent Justin Shaw, the competition article before I posted it up on skurfboards, so he could check if it was alright. He gave me the thumbs up.

Secondly, I sent six emails, trying to get hold of Justin Shaw after the winner was announced. No replies. Even if he wanted the competition in U.S it’s not a professional at all to ignore someone like that. I would of been more then happy to announce a winner from U.S if thats what he wanted.

Thirdly, the winner contacted GFH boards and they said they would send the prize even though it was international. However, never did.

Their response to this situation more then justifies my post.

  4. Hey all, I just happened to be looking at all that was written about GFH online and I came across this. I have never not lived up to my side of anything. The contest winner’s board was sent and was even posted on our website, we paid a stupid amount of money for it to be shipped internationally.

Nonetheless if anyone needs to know I am no longer with GFH on the day to day, although still involved from a far. If I personally offended anyone I apologize but “untrustworthy?” to each there own, but lets be honest……

  5. Hi Justin,

I’m not sure what exactly ended up happening in the end but as far as I’m aware.

I received four emails from the winner asking where his prize was, and all I had to respond with is “I’m not sure”.

I did try to email you multiple times with no response.

I also made sure the winner mailed you personally. He did mention that he received a response and was told that the board was sent. But he then emailed me a few months later, still with out no prize.

I will delete your name as I feel its a bit harsh keeping it in the thread.

I don’t think it would of been a problem if you came to me and said that you had a problem with shipping costs, I could have covered that or sorted out something else.

But the problem was the lack of professionalism in the end.

  7. GFH makes the best shortboard that I have ever ridden. I agree with Justin and most of the others who commented on the situation. You guys should really get your facts straight before you go and talk shit about another company.
