Loaded Dervish Review

Loaded Dervish Longboard
Last week Adam Colton sent me a Loaded Dervish so I could give it a spin. This week I tested the little puppy out, made sure it got the treatment it deserved. I gave it a tour of the streets, hills and skate park of wonderful Wellington(N.Z).

How does the Dervish do?
The Dervish is very low and fitted with drop through trucks, which makes it extremely stable and really easy to push. Made out of bamboo this board has wicked flex, which makes you feel at one with the board, and great for pumping. It turns wickedly well, you’ll have no fear of deck or wheel bite, it’s also great for sliding. It certainly gives me a confidence boost when bombing hills, carrying a stability and carve I’m not used to. The Dervish is really the swiss army knife of longboards, anything you want to do on a longboard, the Dervish will do for you.
The Dervish Downsides?
The deck is so low it gets scraped scratched, and clips gutters pretty easy. Also the design on it should be hand painted not printed that would be sick. I’ve honestly tried to think back and see if I could think of any problems or things I could think to make it better, there must have been some great minds behind the making of this board!

The Final Say:
The Dervish can easily be used for hills, commuting, tricks and bowl. It’s a commuting extraordinaire, bus companies should not be in business with a board like this on the market. Smooth, stable, agile, all round sick.
You can check out the two Adam’s cutting their stuff on the Dervish here .
If you are interested in buying the Loaded Dervish surprisingly Amazon.com sells it for the cheapest

Nice review. What trucks are you using?
Hey Sam,
I have Gullwing Charger Trucks, 10″. They are great for stability when bombing hills. But also sick for carving, pretty sweet looking too.
Cool. Its awesome some NZ longboarding
I got a Vanguard, just ordered a Dervish, if it’s better than the Vanguard, WOW!!
You’ll be suprised! It’s christmas come early!
I have the dervish and it is supreme. I’m coming back from skating in the eighties to longboarding now and it is a dream. Do yourself a favour and get one of these! Also check our the site below for a clip of me skating one. It also tells you about my skating fundraiser for MS. Thanx and may your concrete waves be high and pleasant! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0UMr4XIAQ0

so im in the market for drop throughs… main choices for me are this and an insect mosquito custom..
main question… how is the nose of the dervish?
being a drop through, how stable is the nose in that it wont crack/delam when it hits a curb with a bit of force?
Hey nice review…I was wondering if you knew what trucks, bearings, and wheels come with that complete set for sale on Amazon??
The Amazon deal comes with ABEC 11 76mm Gumballz, and 180mm Randall Trucks
Yo Martin I’ve got a dervish and just the other day I was bombing down a parking structure pretty fast and had to jump off my board to dodge a car. The dervish went shooting down the hill slammed nose first into a cement wall and…. its perfectly ok. Not even a crack or anything its real strong. Awesome board.
The dervish is absolutly amazing and more i sterted snowboarding this year and wanted to followthrough with longboarding just to stay conditiond.needless to say i bought a dervish flex 2 set up w/gullwings chargers abec biltin bearings and retro 75mm big zigs i cant get over the stability and carving preformance this board has. im very impressed its everything and more i could have wanted out of a board.the only otherthing im doing is putting some risers on it and some decent bushings..
thanks loaded for doing what you do and dominating over the compitition..

DERVISH!
hey, i’ve been making my own boards for a few years and i just can’t seem to get the right feel out of them. Also, i dont really have access to bamboo. I’m very interested in the loaded boards but i can’t decide on the vanguard or the dervish, but my setback is that i can’t afford the complete dervish and i dont have drop throughs. Any tips or donations? lol
