The Derringer is great for carving and sliding because that's what its made for. It has small trucks for good carving and the standard wheels are hard enough to slide if you bite into your turns. So if your looking for the carving and sliding thing this would be a great board.

Hey, I've skateboarded and snowboarded for a pretty long time, and i've been lookin into longboards for a while now. I wanna get a good board to start off with thats under $200. I was planning on getting the derringer 28, and was wonderin how well it slides. I'm not a big fan of bombing hills, but i want to learn to carve and slide. Would this board be a good start for me?
